South African merino wool is known worldwide for its high quality. The animal welfare is enforced by the South African Wool Board.
KOKON Merino is guaranteed non-mulesed. The merino sheep graze free in the vast semi desert central Karoo region of South Africa.
Hand wash is recommended. Colours may bleed.
How many skeins do I need?
Please note that Kokon is hand dyed on a small scale of 5 skeins per dyelot. Always make sure that you have enough yarn for your project. Even within the same dyelot, colours may vary.
Please note that some patterns, like cables, require more yarn than a standard stockinette or garter stitch. Also, crochet usually requires approx. 30% more yarn than knitting.

I have used this yarn for a cowl. I am very glad I used this! It is so smooth and (at least) the golden colour has a nice shine to it. The yarn is so soft that it wears very comfortably. It also feels good to have yarn without mulesing. I had enough yarn to use the leftovers for a little toy bear, for which it is also very suitable.
